Disney's (DIS) "Jungle Cruise" won this weekend's domestic box office with a better-than-expected opening of $34.2M amid renewed COVID-19 concerns over the delta variant. Worldwide the movie earned a total of $61.8M for a global start of $91.8M when including $30M in revenue from Disney+ Premier Access. "Jungle Cruise" stars Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt.
BOX OFFICE RUNNERS-UP: A24's "The Green Knight" placed number 2 with a $6.8M debut from 2,790 locations. Behind it was Comcast (CMCSA) subsidiary Universal's "Old" with an estimated $6.8M. Disney's "Black Widow" placed number four, earning another $6.4M as it nears $350M at the global box office. Rounding out the top five, "Stillwater" grossed an estimated $5.1M.
